Crow Elementary addition is under construction

Construction of new Crow addition

April 3, 2017 - Bond-funded construction at Crow Elementary is officially underway. Demolition started over spring break and the pouring of piers for the new addition is starting this week.

The work at Crow will be done in two separate stages. The first stage, now underway, is the biggest with a nearly 4,000 square-foot addition. It will house new strings and music rooms, which have been specifically designed for music education. The addition will also include new office space and a teacher workroom. And the school entrance will be expanded to accommodate a security vestibule. The expansion of the school entrance will require the existing awning to be removed. A new awning will be added.

The first stage also includes creating two STEM labs in the existing building. To do so, the existing science and art rooms will be completely renovated and transformed into STEM labs. The art room will move to what is currently the music room. During this time, fire sprinklers will be added to the part of the existing building that does not have them yet.

The second stage of bond work will come in 2019 and includes a series of life-cycle and deficiency upgrades.
