March 24, 2015 - Construction of the future Agricultural Science Center began last month. The bond-funded 23,000 square-foot facility for agriculture education will house agriculture science projects for students from all AISD high schools and is scheduled to open this fall. The building will include 54 flexible-fencing pens for goats and sheet, 14 heifer pens, rabbit pens, an animal exercise area, a metal construction lab and two classrooms. The state-of-the-art facility will be the district’s first net zero building.
The building was designed by VLK Architects and is being built by Ratcliff Constructors. The aerial footage in the video below was shot by the project superintendent, John Mortensen.
