William "Bill" Bryant was born August 27, 1933, in Graham, Texas. He earned a bachelors degree from North Texas State University in 1956. After college, he served four years in the Army and Army Reserves. After his years of service, he worked at General Dynamics and attended night school at Texas Wesleyan College. He earned a master's degree in education and later a certificate in school administration.

Margie Bryant graduated from Arlington HS. She earned a bachelors and masters degree from North Texas Agricultural College (now UNT). She taught in Fort Worth and also overseas in Japan and Germany before coming to Arlington ISD.

William and Margie met while teaching night school in Fort Worth. They married on June 30, 1968. They moved to Arlington in 1970 when William became assistant principal at Hill Elementary. In 1971, he became principal at Speer Elementary. After 11 years at Speer, he moved to Swift Elementary where he served as principal until his retirement in 1992.

After 19 years of teaching in Fort Worth and overseas, Margie began teaching in Arlington ISD. She taught at Hill Elementary for four years and then became a curriculum specialist for the district for 15 years until she retired.

They were married for 43 years until William passed away on Friday, November 18, 2011 at the age of 78.
