Horticulture

Courses in this program of study involve designing and tending plants and landscapes in the human environment to include cultivation of flowers, fruits, vegetables, and ornamental plants. Students will be able to apply knowledge, skills, and technologies used to grow intensively produced plants for human food and non-food uses and for personal or social needs to include floral arrangements using cut, live, dried, and silk flowers and greenery to make decorative displays. Students will have the opportunity to earn the Texas Floral Design Certification.
