TeacHing and Learning
As a part of the overall division of Academic Services, the primary focus of Teaching and Learning is to collaborative with campus and district instructional staff to support high quality, coherent curriculum, instruction, assessments, and professional learning to meet the learning needs of all students. The Department is responsible for core content curriculum and instructional resources, professional learning, instructional coaches, and the oversight of the Professional Development Center (PDC). Together with school and district staff, the Department is committed to designing, implementing, monitoring, and supporting, and evaluating teaching and learning for students and educators that is aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) which are the state standards for what students should know and be able to do for each subject, in addition to research and evidence-based instructional practices, the District strategic plan, and Standards for Professional Learning.
