The Library Services Department serves the district's 71 campus libraries
in many capacities. Book orders for the campus libraries come through
Library Services, where they are checked for accuracy, books are processed
and sent out to libraries. The school book budgets are monitored,
purchase orders are written, and periodical subscriptions are ordered
and maintained for each campus. A professional library is housed and
maintained at Library Services. The Director is responsible for planning
and ordering the collections for the new school libraries, assisting
in hiring new librarians, coordinating Federal funds allotted to libraries,
assisting and supporting librarians and library assistants with problems,
procedures, and inquiries, and planning staff development activities
for all library personnel. |
