AISD - Transportation Department

The function of the AISD Department of Transportation is to provide safe and sufficient transportation for all of the transportation needs of the Arlington ISD. These needs include

Regular Education Bus Service
Special Education Bus Service
Special Program Bus Service
Special Trip Service
Charter Service
Van and Cargo Truck Service
Maintenance on all rolling equipment
Emergency evacuation service for schools and the city

The goal of the Department of Transportationl is to upgrade our services each year to provide the best service possible.

The AISD provides free bus transportation to students living more than two miles from their home school.

Paid transportation may be available for a small fee for those who live less than two miles from their home school, if a bus is available. Paid transportation is offered on a space available basis and this service is not provided to students transferring from their home campus to another school.

Some special education students with handicapped conditions, however, automatically receive transportation as part of their Individualized Educational Program (IEP).
