Digital Accessibility

The Arlington ISD believes it is our responsibility to be a leader in education not only for the state of Texas but also for the United States and the world. To this end, we are introducing our Digital Accessibility Initiative that addresses the accessibility of our web and electronic communications for all stakeholders. The district is committed to providing equal access to information, resources and services to persons with disabilities or special needs.

A committee consisting of internal stakeholders and technical staff was created in October 2016 to draft and approve a Plan for New Content and Corrective Action Plan for the district's web pages.

Creating accessible documents for all stakeholders is everyone's responsibility. Below are resources you can use to ensure the creation of accessible documents:

"The Web is an increasingly important resource in many aspects of life: education, employment, government, commerce, health care, recreation, and more. It is essential that the Web be accessible in order to provide equal access and equal opportunity to people with disabilities. An accessible Web can also help people with disabilities more actively participate in society."
