2006-2007 Club Meetings    Back
Wedsnesday March 28th, 2007-Deadlines and more...
Today our meeting was focused on Balderdash. We need people signed up to work on the Film Committee. People are also needed to sign up for the other committees. If you are intersted in any of those then please visit Mrs. Bonner's room. Also we're still accepting movie submissions. These are due April 13th, no later. So please, make sure you get your movies completed and turned in by the deadline. Lastly we talked about shirts. As of now they'll cost around $15 and will be available in the next few weeks. If you want to order a shirt stop by Mr. Hopkins room 103. Keep coming to the site, I will be putting up more updates in the near future.
Wedsnesday March 1st, 2007-Balderdash is upon us...
We had our first meeting of 2007 today. A bit of what is going on... We're going to start getting our T-Shirts made next Wedsnesday and look to have them ready to sell for Balderdash and before that. We also are requesting movies to be submitted to the Balderdash Film Festival. If you have a movie ready take it to Mr. Hopkins room 103. We're also planning a big end-of-year event for us to do so be looking forward to that.
Monday November 27th-29th, 2006-Casablanca
This week we're showing the movie Casablanca. Not much else to say about that, just make sure you come and see the movie! The first day of viewing was today (11/27) but we'll be showing it through Wedsnesday and maybe on Thursday...tommorow we'll also have popcorn!
Wedsnesday November 8th, 2006-Behold the Shirts!
We had a short meeting today but it was an eventful one. We unvealed our new Film Club T-Shirts. That's right, brand new T-Shirts! I'll be posting a link to what they look like on the site but in the meantime you can check them out in Mr. Hopkins room on his red bulletin board wall.
Wedsnesday October 11th, 2006-The Start of the Cart
We started work on our grocery cart/wagon for homecoming...I must say, it's looking very cool. I won't reveal what all we did to it but all I can say is it is very awesome. Those who want to help bring non-perishable food items and school supplies.
Wedsnesday October 4th, 2006-Homecoming nears...
Homecoming is just around the corner and that being said it's time for Film Club to make their wagon! This year we're using a shopping cart and it's going to look awesome. We need people to bring cardboard and stuff to use to decorate the cart. We also need non-perishable foods, school supplies and bathroom-related supplies. We need those by next Wedsnesday when we're having our next meeting!
Wedsnesday September 20, 2006-Start of the Movie Premiere's
The very first approved film for Balderdash was premiered today. This movie was created by me (Brett Yanoski). It was written, directed, and edited by me. We also showed Austin Morale's trailer for 4:44 A.M. This means that movies are underway. Everyone start making your films! Our next meeting we will show another movie, the name will be provided soon but as of now we haven't figured one out yet.
Wedsnesday September 6, 2006-Film Guidelines
Due to some events over the past few weeks and in previous years we're now presenting written guidelines to all Film Club members to follow when creating films. At first glance these guidelines seem strict but believe me (and I've been doing movies for 2 years) these aren't that bad. This not only makes adults happy that view our films but it also allows you, the filmmaker, to be more creative with your stories. On that note, the guidelines can be viewed here. Austin Morales also has plans of creating his very own Film Festival involving all of the high schools in the district to try and network among the schools and create a more spread out group of filmmakers in our area. Also make sure if you have yet to pay your dues that you need to do that as soon as you can. Mr. Hopkins will be taking money whenever you can get it to him, it doesn't have to be at the meetings, it can even be during the week. Remember if you have a great script idea or want to be in some films, email me and let me know! You can reach me at brett@martinfilmclub.com or you can talk to me at one of the meetings.
Wedsnesday August 23, 2006-A New Beginning...
We had our first meeting of the 2006-2007 school year today! Today's meeting was an information meeting. We collected dues (great outcome by the way!) and we mentioned everything happening this year. For those that weren't at the meeting here is what happened. We first covered dues, to be in the club you need to pay $3 for dues because our budget is fairly low... Another new thing this year is that we're getting new T-Shirts. We're not going to reveal the design until it's finished so be looking forward to that. We also covered a few of the things we'll be doing this year, these things include: making movies, watching films, watching movies we've made in the past, having workshops, going to a film studio, making a field trip to see a movie and more! As noted above, our meetings are now every other Wedsnesday at lunch. So basically we made it every other week and changed the day. Anyone interested in acting or does anyone have a script idea? I added to the main page an auditions section and a Writer's Corner. In the auditions section movies looking for actors/actresses can be posted on the site with contact info and a short synopsis. The Writer's Corner is for those creative thinkers who have a great script or idea but don't have the crew to do it. That is what we're here for, let me know and I'll make your script known and get some people interested. For either one of those things email me at brett@martinfilmclub.com.
