MNHS is the National Honor Society of Martin High School. National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in this organization since its beginnings in 1921.
Service Hours : As the year progresses members should be looking for approved projects to earn hours. After each event, it becomes harder to earn them. So get them when you can! Also remember that 10 hours are due by December 18 and another 10 at the end of April, and only valid NHS projects can earn you hours. There will be a mid-semester check on October 17 when members must have 5 hours.
Meetings: Keep in mind that all members must attend at least two meetings a semester and have twnty hours by mid April! Students attending more than two meetings will get half an hour for each additional meeting. Upcoming meetings will be on November 13 and December 11.
Revisions to the membership selection to Martin's chapter of the National Honor Society have been implemented. These revisions include:
- Fall induction of Juniors and Seniors
- A revised information form
- A minimum 10.0 GPA
To This Year's Juniors:
