MNHS is the National Honors Society of Martin High School. National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in this organization since its beginnings in 1921.
Service Hours : As the year progresses members should be looking for approved projects to earn hours. After each event, it becomes harder to earn them. So get them when you can! Also remember that 6 hours are due by December 18 and another 6 at the end of April, and only valid NHS projects can earn you hours. There will be a mid-semester check on October 17 when members must have 3 hours.
Meetings: Keep in mind that all members must attend at least two meetings a semester and have twelve hours by mid April!!! Students attending more than two meetings will get half an hour for each additional meeting.
Revisions to the membership selection to Martin's chapter of the National Honor Society have been implemented. These revisions include:
- fall induction of Juniors and Seniors
- a revised information form
- a 10.0 GPA
To This Year's Juniors:
Please take the time to view the information sheet about the candidates for next year's officers here.
Attention All Members:
Flower seeds for Teacher Appreciation are due April 15.
Also, keep in mind that volunteer hours roll over to next semester, but meetings do not. If you do not meet the hour requirement by April 20, you will be put on probation.
