MNHS is the National Honors Society of Martin High School. National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in this organization since its beginnings in 1921.
Service Hours : As the year progresses members should be looking for approved projects to earn hours. After each event, it becomes harder to earn them. So get them when you can!
Also remember that 6 hours are due by December 18 and another 6 at the end of April, and only valid NHS projects can earn you hours.
Remember! All members must attend at least two meetings and have twelve hours by the end of May!!!
Attention Future Juniors and Seniors:
Beginning in the fall of 2012, revisions to the membership selection to Martin's chapter of the National Honor Society will be implemented. These revisions include
- fall induction of Juniors and Seniors
- a revised information form
- a 10.0 GPA
If you will be a junior or senior next year, meet the minimum GPA, have no citizenship grade below B-, and have no OCS, Turning Point, or Choices assignments, you may pick up an information packet at registration in August. The information sheet will require both school and community service and leadership hours to be completed prior to these distribution dates. Please forward any questions to Mrs. Lewis in room 127 or Mrs. Clanton in room 137.
