Stepping is an unique dance performance that mixes traditional African cultural dancing with unity chanting and precision movements of a military drill team. Stepping dates back to the 1940’s when African-American fraternities placed their pledges on “line” and used stepping as a team building event. Today, stepping has evolved into a celebration of pride and highly competitive sport from elementary, jr. high and high schools.

“Martin High School Steppers are the Standard in Stepping.  For more than a decade MHS Steppers have set the precedent for precision, showmanship, creativity,  style, and social awareness in high school step competition. MHS Steppers strive for excellence both on and off the stage. This year the MHS Steppers will take an increased P.R.I.D.E in who we are and what we do.  We will also be extending our service to the community with a primary focus on the American Diabetes Association. Please continue to visit our site for more details regarding important dates and information.  You can email us at MHSStep@yahoo.com. Thanks for Stepping by!!!”
