Welcome to Martin Student Council's official web site. Student Council is an active, award-winning group of talented and dedicated students working to better the school.
This group has brought recognition and prestige to the school through its work with Mission Arlington, the Night Shelter, Child Protective Services and our school-wide adoption of over 75 teenagers at Christmas, and by raising over $5,000 for the Leukemia society. We also serve the school by planning and preparing for Warrior Welcome, Homecoming, daily announcements, Crimestoppers program, and providing the Stall Street journal to keep Warriors well-informed of school events.
Martin's outstanding Student Council has received awards from the Meadow Foundation of Dallas and has been named an Outstanding Student Council by the state of Texas for its devotion to service in leading our students to donate over 32,000 hours to the school and the community through such as canned food drives for the Night Shelter and mentoring at our network elementary schools.
Training for the leadership classes begins with a lock-in, and then the officers direct committee chairs for Texas Association of Student Council's recognized projects, including Teacher Appreciation, Spirit, Energy and Environment, Pride and Patriotism, Safety, Teens Against Tobacco Use and Drug Awareness Forums. |
