Courtney Mills
began her color guard career at Seminole High School in Seminole,
Florida. Wanting to further her experience, she left the scholastic
group and joined an independent group, The Company Color Guard,
performing from 1995-1999. Winning back to back gold medals
at WGI in 1995 and 1996, she decided the next logical step would
be drum corps. She marched the Carolina Crown from 1996-1999.
After finishing a rewarding
marching career with both organizations, Courtney moved on to work
with some of the countries best color guards, drumlines, and drum
corps, including; Seminole HS, Cypress Creek HS, Countryside HS,
Clearwater HS, The Knights of UCF, Carolina Crown, Clear Brook HS,
Westfield HS, Spring HS, Vista Ridge HS, Winston Churchill Percussion,
Richland HS, The Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps, Odyssey
Percussion Theatre, The Phantom Regiment Winter Guard, and The Phantom
Regiment Drum Corps.
Currently Courtney
lives in Euless with her two cats Hobie Cat and Ugly Betty. She
is the color guard/marching band representative for Team Go Figure,
teaches yoga part-time, and takes dance classes whenever she can.
Courtney is simply honored to have the opportunity to work with
the Martin High School Band and Color Guard program. |
Tammi Flynn started her color guard career at
age 11 when she was in the sixth grade at Coral Springs Middle
School. She then went on into high school marching with Stoneman
Douglas varsity guard for 3 years. She won 3 gold Circuit champion
medals and was a WGI open class top 5 finalist for 2 years.
Shortly after graduating she started working as a tech for Stoneman
Douglas and that’s where her passion for teaching started.
After teaching for a year she went to college and majored in
dance. Finding herself missing color guard she went to Southwind
Drum and Bugle Corps and fell in love with their program. She
marched with Southwind for 3 years and that’s where she
aged out. Due to a injury from marching was unable to complete
any further dance training with her school and she moved back
home. After being home for 2 months, Tammi knew there was still
something she has always wanted to do, makeup artistry. In October
of 2006, she went to Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry. She graduated
with the highest grade in her class and was reward with a Certified
Diploma from her school.
Still living in South Florida, Tammi needed to find herself
doing color guard again. Her Fiancés was working at Saginaw
High school and he ended up getting her a job with the color
guard. She moved to Texas in July 2007 and started working with
them right away. Shortly after she was asked to work with Central
High School, in Keller, Texas and happily took that job as well.
She had a very successful marching season with both Saginaw
and Central and is eager to start with Martin High School Band
and Color Guard Program. She is so thankful she was given this
opportunity to work with the wonderful students of Martin High
School.
