4/7/08 The Martin Warrior Winterguard earned 6th place with a score of 73 at the NTCA Championships at Thomas Coliseum this past Saturday. Congratulations on such a great season!
3/14/08 On Wednesday the MHS JV Orchestra competed in UIL Concert and Sightreading Competition and the results were:

Concert 2 Orchestra - Superior ratings from all six judges earning them the UIL Sweepstakes Award

Philharmonia Orchestra - Excellent Ratings on Stage and Superior Ratings in Sightreading

3/10/08 The Jazz Bands competed in the Tarleton Jazz Festival this past Saturday. Both bands were names as one of the outstanding bands of the festival. Scott Hoying received an "Outstanding Soloist" Award.
3/3/08 The Jazz Bands competed in the UTA Jazz Festival this past Saturday. The 2nd jazz band earned 1st place in their division. The 1st jazz band earned 3rd place in their division. Congratulations!

6/9/07 The Warrior Marching Band Drum Majors, Stephen Garman, Kevin Winter, and Adam Nelson, just returned from camp at A&M Commerce.  In competition with over 60 drum majors from all over Texas and Oklahoma, the Martin students succeeded in both of the competitive areas of the camp:
Adam Nelson - 2nd place, Individual Conducting
Martin Drum Majors - 1st place, Team Conducting.  (10 teams in finals from prelims competitions).

The winterguard competes this coming Saturday in the WGI Regional and next Saturday in NTCA Championships. 9/18/06 Martin Wind Symphony was selected as one of 3 (in their classification) to earn the title of National Wind Band Honors for 2006. The other two bands selected were Buchholz HS from Gainesville, FL and Langham Creek HS from Houston, TX.

6/8/06 We also were just notified that Stephen Garman was selected as an "Outstanding Performer" on Bassoon at the 2006 Texas State Solo-Ensemble Competition.  The Contest was held in Austin on May 27 & 29.  The acknowledgement letter stated that 75,000 students competed at the Regional Level and 20,000 musicians performed at the TSSEC.  Only 185 students earned this distinguished honor.
6/8/06 The Warrior Marching Band Drum Majors, Cara Trask, Danielle Graham, and Stephen Garman, just returned from camp at A&M Commerce.  In competition with over 60 drum majors from all over Texas and Oklahoma, the Martin students topped out both of the competitive areas of the camp:

        Cara Trask - 1st place, Individual Conducting
        Danielle Graham - 2nd place, Individual Conducting

        Martin Drum Majors - 1st place, Team Conducting.  (10 teams in finals from prelims competitions).

10/1/05 The Warrior Band participated Saturday in the UTA Marching Festival. When afternoon prelims competition finished, the band had the top score of all 25 participating bands. The band also won caption awards for top scores in Music, Marching, Percussion, and Colorguard.

In Finals Competition that evening, against the top 10 bands from the day's competition, the Warrior Band won Caption Awards for the highest scores in Marching, Music, and Percussion. The Band won the title of Grand Champion with a 5 point margin of victory.

It was the 5th consecutive year the band has won the UTA Contest.

10/12/04 Martin Warrior Band earns a Division I rating and the UIL Region 5 Marching Contest.
10/9/04 Martin Warrior Band ties for 2nd place in Prelims and earns the title of Outstanding Percussion in Class 5A. In finals, the Martin Warrior Band earned Outstanding Music and took 2nd place overall.
10/2/04 Martin Warrior Band earns the title of Grand Champion for the 4th year in a row at the UTA Marching Festival. Other awards include Outstanding Music, Outstanding Marching, Outstanding Colorguard, and Outstanding Percussion. The Warrior Drumline and Colorguard earned 1st Divisions in their standstill competition, as well.
9/25/04 Martin Warrior Drumline earns the title of Class AAA Champions at the Plano Drumline Contest. The Pit and Tenor Line earned nominations for the Overall Outstanding Pit and Tenor Line. The Snare Line earned Overall Outstanding Snare Line.
