Required Components
  • All courses required for the Recommended High School Program
  • Level I, II, and III of the same foreign language
  • Four advanced measures

Four Advanced Measures
  • ①② Original research/project
  • ①②③④ A score of three or above on an AP Examination
  • ① A score on the PSAT that qualifies for the designated recognition
  • ①②③④ A grade of 3.0 or higher on courses that count for college credit

PSAT Recognition
  • A score that qualifies for recognition as:
  • A Commended Scholar or higher by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation;
  • As part of the National Hispanic Scholar Program of the College Board, or
  • As part of the National Achievement Scholarship Program for Outstanding Negro Students of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation

    • Recognition in the graduation program
  • Appears on your official transcript
  • Acknowledged by colleges and universities

What do I need to do?
  • Develop a strategy for completing the requirements of the program
  • Complete a “Declaration of Intent to Pursue Distinguished Achievement Plan” form
  • Have your parents sign the form
  • Return the form to your counselor
  • Select the necessary courses to satisfy the requirements of the plan
