Welcome
Welcome!

...and thank you for sharing your children with me. I am a most fortunate teacher. I love what I teach, and I have wonderful students on my staffs and in my journalism classes. My teaching experience continues to be interesting, exciting, and extremely rewarding.

I am well prepared to teach your children, and I have extensive experience as a professional journalist, published writer, and magazine editor. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland in Secondary Education/English, and I earned my Master's Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Communications, so I am certified to teach English, Journalism, and Speech/Debate.

This is my 16th year of teaching. For the first five years of my teaching career, I taught advanced English. Then I worked at home and raised two children. One is a doctor teaching Physical Therapy at the University of Khartoom in Sudan, Africa and is in charge of the Physical Therapy Clinic ministering to the poor. The other child is an financial expert and accounts executive for a medical equipment company. Needless to say, I'm a proud Mom.

While I was raising my children, I worked primarily from my home office as the Chief Editor of ten national magazines of various types including home decorating (Home Expressions), sewing/crafting (Sew Perfect), business (Texas Business), children's (Kidz Fun Zone), music (Country Music Today), and on the collectors' editions including the official Mickey Mantle and Selena commeratives.

For the last five years, I have been a featured columnist for various papers including the Fort Worth Star-telegram. I stopped writing the column about aging in America called Dear Ageless, so that I could write the first of three books based on my columns for a publisher in New York. My book entitled Living Agelessly will be published in September, 2008.
