| ROARK MEDIA CLUB | ||||||
The Roark Media Club was started to help students increase their knowledge of technology and to use technology to help others to learn. The 'Look & Learn' slides that are aimed toward specific subjects (ex. Spanish/English) are included in the PowerPoint presentations that are shown in the cafeteria during lunch times. All RMC presentations are geared toward encouraging students, informing them about Roark activities and showing off student accomplishments. RMC members will gain a sense of pride by having their work displayed in the cafeteria, the lobby and the walls of Roark. SPONSORS -Mrs. Quigley, Librarian |
Technology items needed for these projects were made possible through grants from the Arlington Alliance for Youth and the Arlington ISD Education Foundation. |

6th Grade students are in charge of making the DVD slide show, which is shown on the TV monitor in the school lobby. It shows all of the activities happening around Roark. These students will also be introduced to Pod Casting, Vod Casting, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, HTML, GarageBand, iMovie and iDVD. The Media Club will also be working on projects for Roark's 50th anniversary including researching the times that Roark has been in operation and what the school was like in the 60's to present times. The research will be used to create digital and print projects. |
