Second Grade is the last step of a primary educational experience. The first goal is to teach independence. The second goal is to teach responsibility for thoughts, possessions and actions. The third goal is to instill pride and self growth. The final goal is to prime the students for educational excellence. The students are now challenged to master a skill and receive a numerical score for the Grade Level Task. The DRA and Benchmark Assessments are tools to measure student achievement. All of the above goals lead to the embodiment of our Second Grade Motto, "Second Graders are the best . . . . Never Second to the rest!"
