| When is the library open and why is it closed in the middle of the day? |
The Library is open each school day from 7:00 - 3:15. On Mondays and Thursdays, the library is now open until 4:15. Occasionally, the library may be closed because of special event scheduled in the library or if the library staff has to go to meetings. Every effort will be made to post these closures ahead of time, but we cannot guarantee such notice. |
| How do I get a username and password so I can use the school computers? |
Each computer has an orange sign aattached to it that explains the procedure you must use to get a username and password. Follow these instructions. If you need help, ask Mrs. Severns or Mrs. Yarbrough. You MUST use this username and password whenever you use a school computer.

| Can I use the library computers to work on school projects and/or assignments? |
Yes, any library computer may be used by students to work on their assignments. Sometimes use may be restricted to the classes that are scheduled into the library over individual students. The librarian will make this determination. In any case, school work overrides any other student use of computers.

| Can I surf the internet, play games, check email or go to chat rooms? |
NO. All use of library computers must be used for instructional/educational purposes. Computers may be used for personal research, but playing games, viewing objectionable materials or images, playing or viewing CDs, emailing or chatting with friends or acquaintenances in chat rooms is forbidden. This is addressed in the Student Code of Conduct and failure to heed these guidelines will result either in a warning or a discipline referral, as well as loss of computer privileges.

| Can I print out my work? What does it cost? |
Yes, you may use the library's printers to print out anything (within reason) that is needed for an academic purpose for .10 cents each page. You MAY NOT print items of a personal nature. If you choose to violate this rule, you will be charged for your printouts. Also, you are allowed one copy of your work. You are NOT allowed to make multiple copies of the same project. There is a copy machine available for you to make copies @ $.10 per page.

| How do I find a book on a particular subject? |
Check the Bowie Library Catalog. Double-click on either Internet Explorer. The homepage is set to our Library Website. Click on the books on the right side of the screen to go to the Library Catalog. Click on the Catalog tab to search the catalog.

| What if I need help with a project in the library? |
Ask the librarian for assistance. They will be happy to help you

| Can I buy school supplies, floppy disks, etc. in the library? |
No. These items should be purchased before you come to the library. Please bring your supplies with you when you come to the library. A failure to plan on your part does not constitute an emergency for the library staff.
