• Listen up everyon. The yearbooks are coming and you still have a chance to buy on May 28, the day of distribution. Have $75 in check or cash for our award winning book. Every senior needs one for the huge, fantastic senior signing party. Don't be left our of all the fun. Your ID is required to pick up your yearbook. Don't forget.
• Seniors! Prom table assignments are now posted! You will find them in the library lobby. Please be sure you know your table assignment when you come to prom Saturday night. If you have any questions or if you still need a table, see Mrs. Ogden in room 174 ASAP.
• There will be a Latin Club meeting for election of officers and t-shirt selection on Friday, May 28 at lunch in room 161. BE THERE!
• Attention Seniors! Information and directions for prom will be available Wednesday through Friday in Senior English Classes and at the front office.
• Seniors! It's time! Time to order final transcripts. Bring your money and the stamped and addressed envelope to the counseling office.
• Attention all MSA members, we will be having elections for the 2010-2011 school year, this Friday in Mrs. Johnson's room, 104. Also don't forget to invite all your friends. Everyone is welcome.

• What rhymes with pie? FACE! Who's face? GONZO'S FACE! Buy tickets during lunch all this week in upper gym lobby for your chance to personally pie Coach Gonzo in the fac e during the senior signing party.

• Any senior that did not attend their row leader meeting on Tuesday must see Mrs. Baggett in Room 282B to get information for practice and for graduation. Remember, if you do not show up at practice TODAY, you will not be allowed to participate in graduation on Saturday, June 5, at 12:00 PM. Practice begins promptly at 3:45 PM tomorrow so get there no later than 3:30 in order to find your row. Leave early for practice and graduation since traffic will be heavy and parking spaces are limited.

• Students, if you know you are not returning to Martin next year, please have your parents notify Mrs. Tate in the counseling office.
• Attention Texas Future Music Educator Students: The last TFME meeting of the year will be today at lunch in the Orchestra Room. Please eat your lunch before you come. We will be having elections for next year's officers at the meeting. Sign up by Wednesday morning outside the orchestra office if you are interested. If you are running for an officer position, please have a short speech prepared. See you there!
• Attention Seniors: If you sold enuogh prizes for the senior fundraiser to win a class 2010 t-shirt or hoodie and have not yet picked it up, please come by Mr. Beck's room 206 to get it. They will be discarded after school is over.
• Interested in joining the Ready Writing UIL team for next year? We're looking for some talented writers. Please come by Mr. Hopkin's room, 103, on Wednesday during lunch! We will have an information meeting. Room 103 on Wednesday at the beginning of lunch. Hope to see you there.

• There is a required row leader meeting today at 12:15 PM for all seniors planning to take part in graduation ceremonies. Graduation row assignments are posted in your English IV classes and on the windows of the counseling offices. Please find your row number and room assignment before coming to the meeting. Please bring a pen or pencil to the meeting.

• Today is "Hug a Senior Day" so give your favorite senior a BIG old hug!
  Tuesday is "Senior Teach Day" and Mandatory Graduation Row Meetings at lunch for all seniors.
  Wednesday is "Old School Day" Elementary School Reunions and Senior Awards.
  Thursday is "Take a Senior to Lunch Day" and Graduation Practice.
  Friday is "Senior Send-Off" The Upper Gym Lobby area, Gym A & B and the Cafeteria will be OFF LIMITS to everyone but Seniors that morning - so many of you will need to find a new route to class that day. We will also be on a modified pep rally schedule. More details later.

• Swagger Squad will make announcement for shirt give away and Swagger sign-up.
• There will be a Literary Club meeting this Friday in Room 203. All members try and be present so we can elect officers for next year.
• Junior World Affairs Council will hold officer elections on Friday, May 21 in Room 209. Please be there to vote on Friday.

• ASLHS has an important and final meeting this Thursday, May 20th at lunch in Mrs. Daniels' room 297. Pizza will be served - $1 a slice. We will be practicing for the induction ceremony to be held that evening at 6:30. Please do not miss this meeting ASLHS members!!
• Attention Nat'l Honor Society Seniors: You graduation stoles are here! Please see Mrs. Mannie, room 161, on "A" days only to pick up your stole.
• Hey Seniors! Have you turned in your prom table form to Mrs. Ogden in room 174 yet? What? You haven't? You MUST turn in your form with your name label even if you don't care where you sit at prom. Without that label, we don't even know you're coming, and you may not have a place to sit for dinner! Remember, only labels issued by the ticket sellers are acceptable, and you cannot add or delete anything on your label. Soooo, either find that label or talk with Mrs. Nobles about getting an official replacement. Then hurry to room 174 to turn it in. Do it today!
• Attention to Students "whom it may concern". It is time to start clearing up your negative accounts! Staring on May 21, you will no longer be allowed to debt your account. So please have money with your when purchasing food itmes.
• Attention: Spanish National Honor Seniors: graduation honor cords are in and can be picked up in Room 162.

• Did you know that next week is senior week? Do you have friends who are seniors? Would you like to send them off with a sweet surprise? Come to Room 160 this week to order your Kiss a Senior Goodbye packets. Each treat includes hershey's kisses finished off with your own personal message. The cost is only a dollar and will be delivered next Wednesday and Thursday. Be sure to find out their 2nd and/or 6th period class before purchasing.
• If you are a senior who will attend Texas A & M in the fall, how about $4,000 to help out with your expenses? Pick up a Ft. Worth/Tarrant County A & M Club Scholarship application from the counseling office! Deadline is May 31.
• Attention New Nat'l Honor Society Inductees: There will be a meeting on Wednesday, May 19th at lunch in the Little Theater. This is very important for juniors to attend to sign up for service projects for next year. It is MANDATORY for newly inducted seniors.
• Sign up soon for this summer's PSAT - SAT Camp. Space is limited - Registration forms are in the front office or counseling office.
• Attention Key Clubbers. Our last general meeting is this Wednesday, May 19th at lunch. Seniors that bought a stole need to turn in $18 to attend banquet on the 25th. Money is due by Wednesday and no later! If you have any questions, see Mrs. Mays in room 124.
• OK Senior guys - all senior guys - the first Fun Dancer practice for the senior pep rally is tonight at 7:00 in gym A. See you there!! This is going to be fun!

• Hey Warriors...Are you ready for some Powder Puff Football??? Today is the DAY! The 15th annual Powder Puff Game is today. Come watch Mill's Mamma's take on Dez's Dimes! The game starts on the MHS field at 6:30 and the tickets are $4 at the Gate.
• Listen up, MCA Club! Our meeting and our very first MCA Food Experience is TODAY!! MCA Club members and those interested in joining may participate: just stop by room 281 (Mrs. Session Brown's room) at lunch TODAY. Bring a friend and get ready to enjoy a fun, cultural experience. • Attention Powder Puff Players - T-shirts will be available for pickup next Monday or Tuesday only in Room 250. No t-shirt pickups on Thursday or Friday this week. • The Martin cheerleaders are having a cheer clinic Saturday for children ages 5-12 in gyms C and D. Cost is $30 for one session from 9-12 or 1-4. It is $50 for all day. See you there!!
• Perfect Attendance for Seniors! If you have perfect attendance K-12, Seniors- go by your attendance clerk's office to let her know.
• Key Clubbers, we need volunteers to work at the Little Elementary Carnival this Friday from 6-10 PM. Come by room 124 to sign up!

• If you are a senior who is not currently enrolled in an English class on campus, please report any scholarships you have been awarded to Mrs. Bandy in the counseling office.

• Be "Fearless" when you face the SAT. Sign up for the Summer PSAT-SAT Course. Information is in the counseling office.
• Attention Class of 2011 - Coveralls, Get your Coveralls! Order your coveralls in the upper gym lobby each morning thru Friday at the Chick Fil A table! Or stop by during lunch at the Concession stand during Cookie Sale on Wednesday or Friday to place your order! Coverals are $80! Cash or checks accepted! Thanks for getting a jump on your great Senior year while raising money for Bahama Bash.

• Bahama Bash tickets will be sold during lunch in room 133 for $25 each on Wednesday, May 5 and Thursday, May 6. You must have you I.D. to buy tickets.
• Are you a senior headed to UT? There is a local scholarship available. The ex-students' association of the University of Austin is providing an award for an entering freshman. Pick up an application in the Counseling Office. The deadline is May 17.
• Check it out: After two rounds, there are only four players left. George Ishii will play Evan Roney, and Kevin Vo will play Donovan Banh in round three. Round three will take place today during lunch in room 103. The championship round will be this Friday. Checkmate!
• Our Varsity Martin Warrior Baseball Team has WON the District Championship for 2010!!! Now it is time to start the Baseball playoffs. The MHS Varsity Warriors begin on Thursday with a best 2 out of 3 with the Richland Rebels. The first game is at Martin on Thursday at 7:30 pm. The second game will be at Richland on Friday at 7:30 pm. The 3rd game, if necessary, will be played at Richland, on Saturday, at 1 pm. The MHS Baseball Booster Club will be giving away Play off T-shirts to the FANS on Thursday around 6:00 at the Baseball Field. We want as many T-Shirts to be worn as possible for this game. They are RED this year and the Slogan is: "Straight to State"

• Attention all Geo Clubbers! If you plan on going on the trip this Friday, May 7, you need to go see Mr. Ellis ASAP! He has your grade check forms, permission slips, and needs to talk to you about a few more items. Go see him right away!
• Seniors- Remember to buy your prom tickets at lunch in room 218C this week on Wednesday or Friday.
• Hey Warriors! Please come out and support Bahama Bash. The Chili's on Little Road and 287 will donate 10% to Bahama Bash this Wednesday and Thursday. Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Chili's.
• ASL Honor Society members and Deaf students- Don't forget the Cinco de Mayo party this Wednesday, May 5 in the Deag Ed. Room 264. We will be having lunch: pizza, homemade desserts and drinks. Don't miss out! Also, ASL Honor Society will be having an important meeting in Mrs. Daniels' room 297 this Thursday, May 6. Don't forget your forms and money for your graduation cord and medals.

• Chad Bailey will be Seekers guest speaker on Tuesday. T-shirt designs are due Tuesday, May 4. If you create the winning design your t-shirt is free! Bring your designs to Mrs. Wood, Mrs. Craig or Mrs. Clements. Thanks!

• Brochures for the Summer PSAT-SAT Course are in the counseling office. Raise your scores and your confidence.
• Prom tickets will be sold during lunch on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, May 3, 5, and 7th during lunch in room 218C. The tickets will still be $65. After May 7th, the ticket prices will increase to $70. The dates for those sales have not been scheduled yet.
• There is no before or after school MAC the week of TAKS.
• Hey Geo Clubbers. Make sure you check in with Mr. Ellis this week about the car wash on May the 1st.

• Attention Key Club Officers! Next Thursday, April 29, we will be having a mandatory meeting AFTER SCHOOL in room 124. All old and new officers are requierd to be there. If you have any questions, talk to Mrs. Mays.

• Juniors, if you got an invitation to help with graduation and want to help, come to the meeting this Friday, during lunch, in Mr. Darr's room, 183.
• Oh the places you'll go! If you have brains in your head and feet in your shoes, you should come to Sundancer's Spring Show, it won't be a shooze! You can get your tickets from a Sundancer or at the door for $5. The show will start at 7 in the MHS Auditorium. Don't be late, late, late, late!
• Attention Seniors...if you turned in an MHS Senior Service Cord form to room 250 you may begin picking up cords today, before school or at lunch. Please bring $8 exact change.
• Check it out! Due to next week's TAKS testing, the Martin Chess Club's Spring tournament will begin on Tuesday, May 4 in room 103. CHECKMATE!
• Hey Warriors, listen up! Did you make straight A's on your report card for the fifth six weeks? If so, make a copy of your report card and put it in the designated box found in the library before Wednesday morning. There will be a drawing from the report cards submitted for a $50 Walmart Gift Card.
• Camry Tardy represented District 4-5A regional golf tournament very well Wednesday and Thursday in Lubbock. She shot an 81 on Wednesday and an 84 Thursday in high winds for a two day total of 165. Congratulations Camry!

• Powder Puff Practices for Dez's Dimes will be on Monday and Thursday from 5:30-6:30. Practice for Mills' Lil Mommas will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30-6:30. Players must attend 3 practices to play.
• ASL Honor Society Officers - Short meeting today at the beginning of lunch in Mrs. Daniels' room. Attention: ASL Honor Society Members. Don't forget - there will be an important meeting this Thursday, April 8 at lunch in Mrs. Daniels' room. Look forward to seeing you there!! We will be planning our Cinco De Mayo luncheon and giving out order forms for Cord and medals.
• Wear your HOPE shirts this week, in honor of HOPE week. HOPE shirts are being sold in room 282B or room 273 for $13. Please donate old cell phones to room 282B or 273. There will be a HOPE activity after school in room 282B on Wednesday, April 21.
• Attention Geo. Clubbers. There is a big time important meeting this Thursday, April 22, in room 101, during lunch. There will be pizza so bring your appetite. Can't wait to see you there.

• The J.B. Little PTA has announced their annual $500 scholarship for a senior who attended Little Elementary for at least 3 years. Please pick up an application in the counseling center. Deadline to submit is April 30.
• Attention Seniors - Avoid long lines. Buy your prom tickets today or tomorrow. Tickets are $65 each and you must have ID, exact cash or check.

• There is a Key Club meeting this Wednesday in Gym A at lunch. Pizza will be sold for $1 per slice. Also, our annual spaghetti dinner will be held on Friday in the MHS cafeteria. Tickets are $7 and all proceeds go to our sponsoring Kiwanis Club. See a Key Club officer for tickets.

• Attention students taking the AP Tests: Today during lunch at 12:25 is the last day to attend the Pre-Administration Sessions for the AP Test. Please bring a pencil. If you have not already done so, please make sure to attend this afternoon at 12:25 during lunch in the Little Theatre. Thank you.
• There are several new local scholarship applications available in the counseling seniors only so stop by and get the scoop. deadlines are coming up fast so don't delay! see your counselor or Mrs. Broker in the COunseling Office.
• Sophomores who are interested in being a part of a Youth Leadership Arlington may pick up an application packet from Mrs. Broker in the Counseling Office.
• juniors, we told you a couple of weeks ago about the opportunity for juniors to take the SAT test at no charge by obtaining a voucher from your counselor. The offer is also being made now by the ACT. Juniors can obtain a voucher from your counselor that will allow you to sign up for the June ACT test at no charge. If you already paid to take the April ACT, you can use the voucher to obtain a refund. Juniors, don't miss this wonderful opportunity. See your counselor for more information.
• Hey Warriors...Come to "Rock the Red Cross" Earthquake relief benefit. Come here great local Live music at The Door in Fort Worth this Saturday April 17th. Doors open at 6:30. All proceeds benefit Haitian Earthquake Relief. That's this Saturday at the Door!
• Sign up for this summers SAT-PSAT Prep Camp. This course will boost your testing confidence and can help you raise your scores. Pick up information in the front office or counseling office.
• Seniors, the time has come. Prom and Bahama Bash tickets on sale next week April 19-23 in the upper gym lobby during lunch. Prom tickets are $65 each, and checks should be made to Martin high School. If tickets are bought with cash please have exact amount any questions see Mrs. Nobles in room 218C.
• The girls' golf team competed in the district 4-5A golf tournament at Ft. Worth Meadowbrooke golf course on Wednesday and Thursday. The A team came away with a 3rd place finish and the B team placed 7th of 9 teams. Jordan Cannon was named 2nd team all district and Camry Tardy was named 1st team all district. Camry Tardy also shot her way to a Regional Medallist finish. She will advance to Lubbock to compete in the Region 1 golf tournament next Wednesday and Thursday. The rest of the members of the A team were Kathryn Y., Lizzie A., and Neill K. B team members were Amelia M., Devin L., Konnor L., Jayme P., and Elizabeth F. Medallists consisted of Alyssa M., Avery B., and Jamie G. The team and coaches really appreciate the support by the faculty and staff of Martin High.
• Seekers is on Tuesday, April 20. CTI is a traveling music group. They will be holding auditions for their summer traveling team Tuesday afternoon. Come and hear CTI and visit with them about amazing travel opportunities as well as being a part of a praise and worship music team.
• The AVID Club proudly announce their newly elected officers for the 2010-2011 school year. They are: President - Ryan R., Vice President - Justin N., Secretary - Amanda V., Treasurer - Batul A., Historian - Roxanna C., Webmaster - Alexis H.

• Bahama Bash tickets on SALE Monday - Friday in the Upper Gym lobby during lunch. Tickets are $25 each. Checks are to be made out to MHS Bahama Bash.

• Attention students taking an AP Test: You must attend one of the following Pre-Administration Sessions today after school at 2:45 P.M. in the Little Theatre OR tomorrow during lunch (only) at 12:25 in the Little Theatre. Please bring a pencil. All AP Test Takers must attend one of these sessions, please make sure you attend one of these sessions.
• Attention Seniors: The DFW School of Dental Assisting is offering two scholarships to Martin HS Seniors. If you are planning a career in Dental Assisting, pick up an application in the counseling office.
• Check it out: Martin Chess Club will host its spring tournament next week. It will be a single elimination battle royale. The number of rounds will depend on the number of participants. Please come by Mr. Hopkin's room 103 to sign up. We hope to see you there. Checkmate!
• There will be an AVID Club meeting on Thursday, April 15, in the Little Theater during lunch. Students who are interested in the AVID program should being your lunch and attend this meeting when we will elect officers and discuss your ideas for expanding the focus for our new club.
• National Library Week. In honor of NLW all overdue fines are half-price this week only. Bring in your overdue books and clean your fines. Better hurry only 4 days left
• Latin Students: Latin Club will meet at lunch on Thursday, april 15 in Mrs. mannie's room. be there to vote on important elections!

• Seekers will be hosting the Senior Citizen Prom on Friday, April 16, at Horizon Bay Retirement Center, formerly Eden Terrace. We'll spend the evening dining and dancing and we need you! If you could help please see Mrs. Craig or Mrs. Clements. Everyone is welcome and we'll dress for the 50's.
• Listen up MCA Club! If you're interested or you know another MCA Club member who is interested in running for homecoming court 2010-2011, stop by Mrs. Session-Brown's room [rm. 281] ANY DAY THIS WEEK (no later) to nominate yourself or a fellow MCA Club member who is a junior. The next MCA Club meeting is on Tuesday, April 20, and among other activities, club members will be voting on one female and one male representative of MCA club for the homecoming court elections this fall! Grab a friend and a membership form and stop by room 281 at lunch on Tuesday, April 20.

• Students taking an AP test : The pre-administration sessions begin after school tomorrow in the Little Theatre. Bring a pencil to this required meeting. If you cannot attend the lunch session, come at 2:45 to the Little Theatre, either on Wednesday or Thursday (also Friday during lunch at 12:25). AP testers must attend one of these sessions.
• Seekers presents Senior Citizen Prom on Friday, April 16! Senior Citizen Prom will be held next Friday night - only one week away - at Horizon Bay Retirement on Woodside and Arkansas. This is a great evening of fun for the retired residents and MHS students. We'll begin decorating at 3:30, dinner will be at 5:00, and dancing from 6-7. Please join us as we have a great evening dining and dancing with the residents of Eden Terrace. We'll have a 50's theme so wear your poodle skirts and rolled up jeans and white t-shirts. Slick back your hair and let's show the old folks how to boogie! Please see Mrs. Clements in room 102 or Mrs. Craig in room 133 for details and to sign up. We'll also be signing up at Seekers on Tuesday.
• This Tuesday, April 13, a representative from Ogle's Beauty School will be available in the Counseling Center Foyer from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. to meet interested students and answer any questions you may have about their school.
• Attention ASL Club members! Juniors and seniors! There will be a meeting on Tuesday, April 13 in room 295. We will be selecting homecoming nominations. See ya there!
• Hey CompSci Club Members!! We're having a general meeting Tuesday, April 13 during lunch. We will be discussing our month's activities and plans for The Amazing Race 2. be sure to be there!!
• This Wednesday and Friday, the Unleashed Poetry Club will open The Coffee House in room 296. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate will be sold for .75. Cookies will also be sold. Please come enjoy the cool vibe in The Coffee House and listen to some great poets read their work. Also, Hidden Talents Poetry contest deadline is April 19 in case you haven't entered yet.
• Stop by room 282B or 273 to nominate a H.O.P.E. club member for homecoming. The last nominations will be taken on Tuesday the 13th, and there will be a hope meeting to vote on Thursday, April 15. Thanks H.O.P.E. club!

• Hey everyone...did you know that April is national poetry month? To celebrate, the Unleashed poetry club is holding its annual poetry contest. The Hidden Talents Poetry Contest shines a spotlight on a select number of talented poets right here at Martin High School. To encourage you shy writers, we have decided to give out some top secret information: First place winner will receive fifty dollars...that's right! FIFTY DOLLARS! Second place will receive $35, and third place will receive $15. There will also be honorable mention certificates given to those selected. So all of you talented writers out there, pick up rules and an entry form outside of room 290C or 296. Deadline is April 19.
• Students: Thursday, April 8, W.Y.O. Technical School will be in the upper gym lobby. They are an automotive and motorcycle mechanical school. Make plans to visit them if you are interested in this type of career.

• Attention NHS Seniors - If you still need service hours and can work on Saturday, April 17 - please see Mrs. Mannie in room 161 for Earth Day at River Legacy opportunity.

If you have not yet signed up to take the SAT on either May 1 or June 5, you should see your counselor for a voucher number. This number will allow you to take the test for free. See your counselor this week, March 30 through April 2.

• The Martin Players are proud to present a public performance of this year's UIL One Act Play on March 29 at 7:30 in the Auditorium. The play is The Shadow Box by Michael Cristofer, a Pulitzer Prize winning play exploring the stages of grief endured by terminally ill patients and their families. According to UIL regulations, the play is 40 minutes. A question/answer session including the cast will occur following the play. The play goes to District competition on Saturday, April 3 at Arlington High School. Playgoers should arrive at 2:30 because no one is admitted after the play begins due to UIL rules. Admission to the competition is free. Tickers to the public performance on Monday night will be sold for $5, sold only at the door. That's Monday, 7:30PM, Martin Auditorium for The Shadow Box.
