Registration

Class Rank and Grade Point Average

Class rank and the grade point average are based on grades 9-12 work. The official ranking comes at the end of the seventh semester. All students except foreign students and VAC special education students are ranked. All credit earning courses are included in computing grade point averages.

Curriculum

Martin High School's curriculum is varied and extensive. In addition to regular courses, there are special provisions for the gifted, the slow learner, the academically talented, and the English as a Second Language student.

Advanced Placement courses are offered in English III and IV, Calculus, Statistics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, American History, European History, U.S. Government, Human Geography, Computer Science I, II, and III, World History, Spanish, French, German, and Latin, Music Theory, Psychology and Macroeconomics. Of 829 Advanced Placement Examinations taken by 453 candidates, 57% were graded 3 or above and received college credit.

Pre AP/Honors courses are offered in English I & II, Geometry, Algebra I & II, PreCalculus, Biology I, Chemistry I, Physics, and third year Foreign Language.
