- denunciation noun the act of denouncing or openly condemning a person or thing
Jack's denunciation of the church shocked his family; they thought him very pious.

- derogatory adj. disparaging; belittling
His derogatory remarks were considered tactless by the other employees.

deter verb to prevent or discourage (a person, group or nation) from doing something
Susan tried to deter her boyfriend from taking a job out of because she was afraid it would end their relationship.

- loathe verb to regard with intense dislike, disgust, or hatred; to detest
Max loathed getting up so early for work.

- loquacious adj. very talkative
Bob always felt he could have had a better relationship with Becky if he had only been more loquacious or she less so.

- luscious adj. very appealing to the senses
