On Thursday, May 8th, 2008 the student body sent-off members of the Lady Cougar Track Team, coached by Katra Ridgeway and the Cougar Men's Track Team, coached by Michael Murphy to compete in the UIL State Track Tournament in Austin.
Kevin Hobson took the silver medal in the 100m with a time of 10.55 and took the State Champion in the 200m with a time of 20.96. Kevin was the Region II-4A Champion in the 100m and 200m, District 15-4A Champion in the 100m and 200m, and Texas Relays Champion in the 100m. Kevin has signed a full scholarship to attend University of Houston in the fall.
Teacher of the Year
Ms. Donna Marshall-Knowles was honored by the faculty of Juan Seguin High School as Teacher of the Year. Ms. Marshall-Knowles was honored at a reception on Wednesday. April 23rd, 2008.

Ms. Marshall-Knowles was joined by her husband and daughters at the Teacher of the Year reception with AISD Superintendent, Mr. Hector Montenegro.

Four Cougar Fine Arts students have been selected to perform at the ALl-State level. Congratulations to Be T. (All State Orchestra), Andrew W. (All State Band), Anna J. (All State Mixed Choir), and Jennifer M. (All State Band).
Also, congratulations to Robert Poulin (Band Director), Melina Shaffer (Orchestra Director) and Thomas Rinn (Choir Director) for an outstanding year! Seguin truly has the best Fine Arts TEAM!!!
National Signing Day - 2008
On Wednesday, February 6, 2008, Cougar Football athlete Hector N. signed his letters of intent to play college football. Hector will be playing for Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX.
