- Shahada - Shahada requires that you say that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad (pbuh) is his prophet in arabic " أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله و أشهد أن محمد رسول الله. "
- Salat - This second pillar requires that you pray 5 times a day, preferably in a Mosque (Muslim worship building) The prayers are; near dawn (fajr), just after noon (dhuhr), in the afternoon (asr), just after sunset (maghrib) and around nightfall (isha'a).
- Sawm - This third pillar requires that you fast during the holy month of Ramadan every year. This fasting reminds you of all the poor people around the world that don't have food or water, or that don't eat during the day.
- Hajj - This fourth pillar requires that you go and do Hajj (to mecca and the Masjed al Haram) Mosque) atleast once in your life time if you are able too.
- Zakat - The fifth pillar in islam requires you to give donations and tribute to the poor and to mosques going to be built. Another form of zakat is feeding other people, (your neighbor) or planting trees and allowing people and animals to eat out of it.
