JSHS Departments

The departments of JSHS have been broken into three categories for easy navigation. The first category TAKS/STAAR Core contains the four traditional core classes of English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

The second category, Electives, contains the seven elective departments of Athletics, Business, Career and Technical Education (CATE), Fine Arts, Languages Other than English (LOTE), Physical Education/Health, and Technology Applications.

The third and final category, Academic Support, contains the departments that support the academic achievement and success of JSHS students. Departments in this category include AVID, Counseling, Credit Recovery/PLATO, English as a Second Language (ESL), Go Center, Library, MAC Lab, and Special Education.
