The General Education Development (GED) Certificate is not the same as a High School diploma. It is not meant to be a terminal point in your academic career. It is meant to be a stepping-stone to further academic or skill training. Before attempting to get your G.E.D., you should have a plan for what you intend to do after achieving your certificate.

High School Equivalency Program
The High School Equivalency Program (HSEP) is offered as part of Venture School. The program is designed to assist students in achieving the objectives outlined in the GED exam.

Adult Education Program
The Adult Education Program is offered as part of Venture School. The program is designed to assist those individuals that do not qualify for the HSEP with achieving the objectives outlined in the GED exam

GED Testing Center
The GED is a test which measures the General Educational Development of individuals who have not graduated from high school or for another reason have not obtained a high school diploma. The GED Certificate is awarded by the Texas Education Agency to those who pass the GED Test. It is widely accepted as the equivalent of a high school diploma.
