Juan Seguin High School
Welcome to Seguin Podcast
Ms. Britton (Academic Assistant Principal) and Ms. Gorman (JSHS Librarian) have been working hard with their cameras to make a podcast welcoming students to JSHS. The podcast was used at recent visits to Ousley Junior High School and Ferguson Junior High School (JSHS feeder junior high schools). Click here to see the podcast.

Over the weekend of January 10, eight students of Seguin's Band participated in the Area Band Contest (the equivalent of Regionals in the high school sports world), the final stop on the way to All-State. Those eight students and their results were:
Ariel S. (won 1st chair flute; advanced to state)
Xavier S. (9th grade; yeah, he's that good!)
Sarah P. (won 1st chair oboe; advanced to state)
Chris V.
Briana B. (won 1st chair clarinet; advanced to state)
Andrew W. (won 3rd chair trumpet; advanced to state...also, represents the first time ever we had a returning All-State band student make it again the next year!)
Lauren W.
Shelby I.
These kids are awesome, and we are so proud of their efforts! To give you an idea of how challenging the All-State process is for them: there are approximately 210 4A schools in Texas and 150 spots in the Texas 4A All-State Band. That's an average of 0.7 students per school...and we had 4! What incredible kids!
