Who is Eligible? |
| Students must be at least sixteen years of age at the beginning of the school year, and two years must have elapsed since the student first enrolled in the ninth grade. Students under the age of eighteen must have a written parent or guardian permission. A student must have less than six high school credits. A court order for students on probation will supercede the above eligibility requirements. Students enrolled in the HSEP must take the TAAS exit exam prior to taking the GED exam. |

Does it Cost? |
| There is no fee for the course. However, the students should make a commitment to be in class every day. |

What are the hours? |
| The classes meet for two hours each regular school day. Classes may be scheduled either from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, or 12:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. |

How do I Enroll? |
| Contact your high school counselor if you are currently enrolled in school. If you are not enrolled in school, call or visit Venture School. You may then begin your classes immediately. |

What Post-Secondary Schools Accept a GED? |
| Most technical schools and community colleges accept either a high school diploma or a GED. However, you should call the schools directly and inquire about their admission requirements prior to enrolling in the HSEP. |

Will Branches of the Military Service Accept Recruits with a GED? |
| Normally the military services will only accept persons with a high school diploma. However, occasionally they will accept persons with a GED on a case by case basis. You would need to contact the military recruiting officers directly regarding yourself. |

Where would I Take the Actual G.E.D. Test? |
| The test is offered at several locations in Tarrant County. It is also offered here at Venture School every Thursday evening and the second Saturday of each month except for July. |

How Long Would It Take for Me to Receive the Results of My Test? |
| Approximately two weeks after you have finished all five portions of the test. |
