Technology

Wood Elementary students and faculty are very fortunate to have many technology resources readily available for their use.  The building is part of the AISD network, providing internet access to all classrooms, computer labs, and library.  The students at Wood have classes in the two computer labs twice a week.  Within each of the computer labs there are 28 iMac computers, scanners, projectors, color and black and white laser printers.  There are four digital video cameras available for the teachers and students to use.  With these video cameras the classes are also able to use a program called iMovies to make video productions.  We have digital cameras available for teachers to check out.  These cameras are tools used in creating educational products generated by teachers and students.  Each classroom has one or more computers which are part of the networked system.

Wood Elementary Campus Technology Manager is Lisa Williams.  Her role at the school is to provide technology support to the students and faculty by maintaining the computers and printers in the classrooms, computer labs and office areas.  She troubleshoots problems, reimages and upgrades computers, and works on software problems.  She works closely with the Technology Dept of AISD with its specialist to ensure that the school is up-to-date with the technology available in our school district.
