First I hope you are reading this and are warm and safe. It’s been a hard week for everyone and definitely for some more than others. Our thoughts are with all of those that have been affected by the last week’s winter weather. If there is anything I can do to help, or any questions I can answer to ease your mind, please do not hesitate to reach out. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Let’s take a look at what the after effects are of the weather and what next week will entails. As many of you know, Arlington is under a “boil water” mandate. Until it is lifted and the water is comprehensively tested in each facility, students and staff cannot occupy buildings. This could be lifted as early as Saturday and as late as Monday;
We have a district landing page that will provide detailed information on facility progress, meals, resources, etc. https://www.aisd.net/winter-weather/

Below is the plan for the coming week:
Monday & Tuesday
- All district facilities will be closed. Staff will continue to assess damage and prepare for occupancy. We will notify staff and parents by Noon on Tuesday which campuses might open on Thursday;
- Food distribution will be available at 15 locations. Students will receive a packaged lunch and breakfast for the next day (Sam Houston, Dan Dipert CTC, Bailey, Barnett, Ousley, Shackelford, Workman, Young, Blanton, Crouch, Johns, Knox, Short, Speer, and Starrett);
- This is an asynchronous remote learning day. Students will engage in lessons at home, but there will be no live Zoom sessions.
Thursday & Friday
- It is possible that we may resume in-person instruction on campuses that are determined to be safe for occupancy. At this time there is no substantial damage, but as we begin to thaw out that could change. If anything changes, we will let you know.
Please feel free to reach out to me at email@example.com with any questions, comments, or concerns.
Thank you for your continued support of our school!!!
