Hello Colts! My name is Derek Cain and I’m THRILLED to be one of your Assistant Principals this year! Student education is my passion and I’m excited to be working with the students, parents, and faculty of Arlington High. This will be my ninth year in education. I taught middle school social studies at Clear Creek ISD’s Victory Lakes Intermediate my first four years and was the social studies department head, grade level head, and a coach. I have spent the most recent four years at Clear Brook High School and Clear Springs High School, also in the Clear Creek Independent School District, where I taught U.S. History and coached both football and boys track and field.
I am a product of this wonderful school district! My wife, Lori, and I graduated from Lamar High School and Texas A&M University. WHOOP!! In the fall of 2017, I earned my Master’s degree from Stephen F. Austin.
My family moved back home to Arlington after living in Houston for ten years. Our two daughters are McKinley and Campbell Grace. We have a rambunctious dog named Cooper. Lori is a GT Lead Teacher at Little Elementary School year.
Outside of teaching, we love to travel and spend time with our family. We are very excited to return to our roots and raise our daughters in this amazing community! I am excited to be part of THE Arlington High School! Kick’ em, Colts!
