Principal’s Message February 14, 2020 TRADUCCIÓN EN ESPAÑOL DISPONIBLE:

February 14, 2020

Cold and wet weather for the Colts this week, but that doesn’t slow down our students.  Boys and Girls soccer, golf, tennis, baseball and softball are heading into their district play. Boys and Girls basketball were lucky to do their playing indoors! These athletes demonstrate COLTS Family TOUGHNESS!

Last week, AHS PTA honored twelve students at the PTA’s Student Achievement Breakfast. Awards were presented to the nominated students. This gives the teachers the opportunity to say, “THANK YOU” to a very deserving student who makes teaching a privilege.

National Signing day was also last week. Several Colts made college commitments. For Lady Colt Soccer, Olivia Alvarez is going to Corpus Christi A&M and Caroline Pool is going to Hardin Simmons. Colt Football recruits are Jerry Jones Jr. to Navarro College, Keavante McGowen to Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Alex Reeder and Caleb Tobias both going to Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Pierce Salyer to Hardin Simmons. Early graduates, Jahari Rogers committed to Florida and Charles Brown went to Montana State.  For basketball, Jayden Sloan is going to Southeastern Oklahoma State University. We are proud of these student athletes!

State of Texas 2018–19 School Report Card for Arlington High school:

At the link below, you will find a copy of the State of Texas 2018–19 School Report Card for our school. This is a report required by the Texas Legislature and prepared by the Texas Education Agency. It is to be sent to the parent or guardian of every child enrolled in a Texas public school. The report provides information concerning student performance on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®), as well as information on student enrollment, class size averages, and financial expenditures.

State law requires that the School Report Card display information about the state, the district, and the school. Where possible, the information must be reported by race/ethnicity and socioeconomic status of the students and must include at least two years of results.

The School Report Cards can be found online at

A more complete report about our school, the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR), is available by contacting my office or can be accessed online at

Please contact me if you have any questions concerning this report card. Thank you for your continued support of our school.

Mr. Colt was Pierce Salyer, and Runner-Up was A.J. Lopez. Taking a close third place was Jason Hansen. Mr. Heart Throb was Charlie McLaughlin and Mr. Congeniality was Ken Perry. What a fun COLTS Family evening!
