I love introducing kids to music! I have a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Houston and a Master’s degree in Clarinet Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Colorado. I started teaching in 2011 at Christ the King School in Dallas, and in 2012 my husband and I moved to Rotterdam in the Netherlands so he could study bass clarinet. During our time in Rotterdam, I taught English Second Language and music theory classes. We moved back to Texas in the summer of 2015, and I have been teaching music at Ashworth ever since.
Here at Ashworth, I teach First through Sixth Grade general music classes and involve various grade levels in performances throughout the year. I also direct the Ashworth Mustang Chorale, a choir of over 50 students that rehearses after school and performs several times a year both in and out of school.
Starting in 2017, I began heading the Dance Committee, which puts on fundraising dances open to all students. I am also going on my third year as a member of the PTA board.
I live in Arlington with my husband, who teaches freelance clarinet lessons and is working on his doctorate at TCU.
