I grew up all over the United States: New Mexico, Massachusetts, Florida, Oklahoma, and Texas. I received my bachelor’s degree in 2004 from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. After moving back to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, I pursued my teaching certification and masters degree in education from the University of Texas at Arlington. At UTA, I specialized in literacy. I have been teaching for twelve years.
Reading and writing are passions of mine that I share with my students. As a teacher, I want my students to put forth their best effort while exploring all the possibilities life offers them.
My husband (Abdul) and I have one son (Ammar). As a family, we like to hike, read, and swim. I also enjoy writing, listening to podcasts, watching history documentaries, and visiting with friends.
