Patty Pardue

I have been the Librarian at Ashworth for seven years. Prior to becoming a librarian I taught Special Education math for fourteen years in AISD. I received a BA from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master in Library Science from Texas Woman’s University. In the Library I focus on sharing my love for reading and education with the students. The Library is a classroom and lessons are taught on digital citizenship, general library use, and various topics to help reinforce material taught in the classroom. Technology is incorporated when appropriate. The library is open before school to give students an opportunity to experience different activities including chess, knitting, and some other hands on activities. Our students participate in the Texas Bluebonnet program, The Daughters of the Republic of Texas essay contest, and the AISD Battle of the Books for 4th and 5th grade students. Students are encouraged to volunteer in the Library as a way of giving back to their community.

I have three wonderful children living in Texas and Florida. I love to travel, garden, and of course read.
