Principal - Ms. Stacey Maddoux

Dear Ashworth Family,

I am so proud and excited to be the principal of Ashworth Elementary. Ashworth is a very special place for me. I was part of the team that opened Ashworth in 1996. l was a First and Second Grade teacher here for nine years. My son, Nicholas, also attended Ashworth from Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. He went on to Ousley and graduated from Seguin. I have come full circle and I am so happy to be back home at Ashworth!

I received my Bachelor Degree from Texas Tech and my Master of Education at the University of Texas Arlington. I have spent my entire educational career in Arlington ISD. I taught in the classroom for thirteen years, was an instructional coach for six years, and an assistant principal for five years. If you are doing the math, that puts me in my 25th year of being an educator in Arlington this year.

I can’t wait to get to know each student, family and staff member. I believe that together, we are an unstoppable team that makes the possible real. I look forward to collaborating with the Ashworth community to further develop a positive culture where growth
mindset, high expectations, risk taking, innovation and a celebration of our differences create success for ail student and adult learners.

My door is always open. I hope you will stop by to say hello.

Kind Regards,

Stacey Maddoux
Principal

Assistant Principal - Amy Anderson

I am thrilled to be joining the Ashworth family as your assistant principal! I am excited to serve the teachers, staff, students, and families in the Ashworth community.

I grew up in Minnesota and received my Bachelor’s Degree from Concordia College. After graduation, I worked in youth ministry in Arizona for 7 years. In 2012, my family decided to move to Texas, and I pursued a career in education. Building relationships and helping students learn has always been my passion, and I have loved doing just that – first in 4th grade at North Hills Preparatory in Irving, and then at West Elementary here in Arlington ISD. At West, I worked as a Special Education teacher, 5th grade teacher, and most recently, as a Student Support Interventionist helping students and supporting teachers in 1st-6th grades. I earned my Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies through the University of Texas at Arlington. My husband is also a teacher in AISD, and my children are going into 2nd and 5th grades, so education is the heartbeat of our household!

2020 has brought many new and difficult challenges so far, but I know that we will work together to meet those challenges as a team and come out stronger on the other side. I know that Ashworth is an incredible place, and I can’t wait to get to know each of you!
