Welcome to the Blanton Elementary Website, Home of the Soaring Eagles. My name is Josh Leonard. I came to Blanton as the principal in January of 2013. I came from HEB ISD, Arlington’s neighbor to the north! I am excited to be at Blanton and ready to support and increase all student learning. I encourage you to follow the various links as you browse, or please feel free to always come by and see us in person. We are very excited about our school, the students, their parents, and, of course, all of the dedicated faculty and staff that are the Blanton family. We are here to meet your needs.
Our goal each and every day is to provide the best possible learning experience for every student. We believe in lifetime learning and value the relationship between school and home. What is best for the students always drives our decision-making processes. Student safety is a major piece of all decision making here at Blanton. We promote excellence in academics, attitude, self-respect and self-discipline.
Blanton opened in 1955 and serves about 730 students in grades PK/3 through Grade 6. We have a very diverse student population with wonderful support from the community. We encourage you to become part of our Blanton family as well.
This year Blanton is undergoing major renovation to allow us to accommodate all our students in the building without any temporary buildings. We will be building a new hallway with ten classrooms, a new kitchen, an expanded cafeteria, new drop off/traffic lanes, and more parking for parents. During construction it will be difficult to find a parking place. I encourage you to park on the streets surrounding Blanton and walk. Please be Patient with the traffic. Your student’s safety is our first priority!
