The Arlington ISD Board of Trustees is accepting applications for the 2019 Capital Needs Steering Committee. Applications are due by 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018.

The purpose of the 2019 CNSC is to provide recommendations to the Board for prioritized facility and identified capital needs through 2025 to support the district’s strategic plan.

Membership on the committee will be comprised of a maximum of 38 members approved by the Board and representing a broad cross section of district stakeholders. Parents, students, teachers, principals, non-administrative AISD employees, representatives of the Arlington business community, local higher education representatives, a City of Arlington representative and at-large district residents will serve on the committee.  A committee chairperson(s) will be appointed by the Board of Trustees.

Individuals serving on the committee in the membership categories of parents, at-large and non-administrative AISD employees must live within the AISD boundaries and pay property taxes, if applicable, to the Arlington Independent School District to be eligible for committee membership.

The Board will consider appointing individuals to the committee at its regular meeting on December 13, and the committee will begin its duties in January 2019.  Approximately six committee meetings and two community dialogue meetings will be held. The target date for completion of the committee’s responsibilities is June 27, 2019.  Please contact Cindy Powell, Chief Financial Officer, at cpowell@aisd.net with questions regarding the committee.
