Tons of concrete poured at Arlington ISD schools this summer New concrete drives, parking, sidewalks and ramps

Aug. 16, 2019 - It was the summer of concrete in the Arlington ISD. Many schools had new concrete poured while school was out, from concrete drives and parking lots to improved sidewalks and ramps.

The schools in the photos - Kooken Education Center, Ditto Elementary and Carter, Boles and Bailey junior highs - are just five of the more than 25 schools with summer construction projects funded by the 2014 Bond.

The 2014 Bond program is now in its final year as most projects will be finished by the end of 2019. The only project that will last much longer is the construction of the AISD's new Fine Arts Center and Athletics Complex, scheduled to open in the fall of 2020.
