ABSENCES:
Attendance is completed by 9:50 am each morning. Students not in the building at this time will be recorded as being absent for the day. Please call the school office (682-867-1010) to inform us of your child's absence. We will attempt to call a parent if the child is absent, and we have not been called. This will allow us to excuse your child's absence. If a child is absent for 3 days in a row, a doctor's note is required to have the absences excused. Butler has an attendance/tardy communication protocol that our staff follows with our parents regarding implications of repetitive tardies and absences.
TARDINESS:
The instructional day begins promptly with announcements at 8:20 a.m. The first bell rings at 8:05 a.m. Any student who is not in his/her seat by 8:20 a.m. will be sent to the school office for a tardy slip. To insure that your child gets the BEST education possible, please have him/her to school by 8:05 a.m. Missed instruction will greatly impact your child's learning. Butler has an attendance/tardy communication protocol that our staff follows with our parents regarding implications of repetitive tardies and absences.
Early Checkout:
If a student is checked out prior to 10:00 am and does not return to school that day, the student will be counted absent. If the student returns to school with a doctor’s note, the student is not counted absent. Please note that we do not call for students to come down to the office to be checked out early after 3:00 pm.
