My interest in Art and Design began in high school when I was in an architectural engineering class and got my first taste of AutoCAD. In college, I was able to build on my understanding with a semester of studying abroad in Europe and learn about how art and spaces can be interwoven together with organizations like the Chinati Foundation. After working in the field of architecture, I wanted to be able to help others to find their passion and support students through the final seasons of school before post-secondary education. Architecture appeals to me because it is a form of art, and I love how the design of buildings and structures can evoke emotions. I believe that Architecture should enhance the quality of life by creating spaces that are efficient, comfortable, and practical. Architecture reflects a culture’s ideals and history while providing a tangible connection to the past and allowing room for growth. I believe that this discipline allows students to be able to explore their culture while building and creating more opportunities for themselves in the future.
