Our FFA students had a county show this past weekend. Ms. Farmer and Ms. Morse were the advisers for the market rabbits this year. Each student received 5 rabbits, raised them, and then showed them at the county event. This is the first year in a long time for AISD to do market rabbits, we for sure came out on top!
Jase B. from MHS received Grand Champion Single Fryer (just showed one rabbit) along with overall Reserve Champion Market Rabbit.
David S. from AHS received Reserve Champion Single Fryer.
Grace B. from SHS received 3rd overall Single Fryer.
This is a BIG accomplishment since our students went up against 97 total competitors this weekend and swept the top of the competition! We are very proud of our students and their hard work with these rabbits.
Now that county is over with, we have several rabbits that are needing a good home. I can tell you from personal experiences, these rabbits are very well taken care of and are very docile. They would make great class pets, or even pets at your home! So here comes my question, can I interest you in a rabbit?? We have 8 total rabbits that are needing homes right now. The students are asking for $20 a rabbit and they come with a bag a feed as well. This money will go straight back to the student for their rabbit and hard work getting these animals to where they are now.
