Graphic Design II Students Tour Active Impressions Screen Printing & Embroidery

On Friday, October 19 the Graphic Design II students toured Active Impressions Screen Printing & Embroidery to see how their artwork is transferred to t-shirts and caps. Owner Scott Michener gave the students a guided tour and explained each step in the process of taking a digital image file and creating a screen for each color.

Most large screen printing orders are put on the automatic screen printing machine that can print up to 8 colors. Students were shown how to mix color, manually screen print their own 2-color shirts, place them on the drying rack, then fold and package them in a sealed bag.

Students were also shown how logos and other images are embroidered on caps and shirts. Nothing beats seeing the process first-hand.
