Jos\u00e9 Antonio Cubela, raised in Miami, Florida, received an Associate in Arts with honors from Miami Dade Community College. In 2002, Mr. Cubela graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. At Texas Christian University, Mr. Cubela graduated with a Master of Music in Piano Performance in 2004.<\/p>\n
Mr. Cubela has been an adjudicator for the DMTA, Fort Worth Music Teachers\u2019 Association, MCMTA, National Federation of Music Clubs-Junior Festival, Piano Forum, Steinway Young Artist Competition and Weatherford MTA piano competitions and festivals, and the Memphis International Piano Festival and Competition. He was the President of the Fort Worth Music Teachers\u2019 Association between 2015-2017. In addition to being active in several organizations, he was one of the performing artists for the Van Cliburn Foundation\u2019s Musical Awakenings Education Programs, also known as Cliburn in the Classroom. He was professor of primary and secondary piano at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth and Tarrant County Community College, NE campus. Many of Mr. Cubela\u2019s piano students have won piano competitions and have been accepted to prestigious universities around the U.S.A pursuing degrees in music. Currently, Mr. Cubela was the piano teacher at Gunn Fine Arts Dual Language Academy and is one of the founding directors of the Fanfare Piano Festival for the Arlington ISD. He is currently teaching piano and theory at Arlington ISD\u2019s Center for Visual and Performing Arts.<\/p>\n
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Mr. Cubela is an active performer both as a soloist and collaborative pianist. In the summer of 2017, He spent six weeks adjudicating and working with students and their teachers under the auspices of the International Piano Performance Committee in Taiwan. Mr. Cubela performed at the Conservat\u00f3rio de M\u00fasica de \u00c1gueda and Centro de Artes de \u00c1gueda in Portugal with colleague Doris Gameiro. He also performed at the Museu do Traje in S\u00e3o Br\u00e1s de Alportel and Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes in Portim\u00e3o, Portugal with colleagues Doris Gameiro and Svetlana Martins(Bakushina). In April 2023, Mr. Cubela collaborated with Grammy, Emmy and Tony nominated choreographer Lars Lubovitch for the Bruce Wood Dance Company\u2019s Gala at the Moody Performance Hall in Dallas. Finally, he recorded with Alexander Kerr, Concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony and David Cooper, Principle Horn of the Chicago Symphony in collaboration with East Dallas Christian Church Chancel Choir under the direction of Keith Critcher.
