Webb Elementary

Assistant principal Maria Luna has seen the smiles, the spirit and the love for the last 20 years – ever since she’s been at Webb Elementary – as members of the Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions take over the campus one day before the holiday break to spread cheer.

These engaged community members were at it again this week with a carnival, dance performances, pictures with Santa and more. The students at Webb certainly feel the love.

“Not only do they provide for our kiddos,” Luna said. “But they provide for our teachers. They actually feed them lunch.

“We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

Dressed as Jazzy Frosty with a top hat and all, Yazmina Wines from the American Airlines Credit Union looks forward to the carnival every year. The members of the Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions come together at Webb Elementary to plan this massive yearly event and stuff gift bags for each student, and then they show up in full force on carnival day to give the students a day they won’t soon forget.

Every student goes home with a gift bag that includes prizes won at the carnival and more and also a button with their picture with Santa. Members of the Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions look forward to this day just as much as the students.

“We’re coming together in love for the community,” Wines said.
