Transfer to the Arlington ISD Where Results are Real

If you’re looking for proof of how quickly the Arlington ISD can produce first-class results for students just look at how the district responded during the COVID-19 pandemic. The district got real results and you will too when you transfer to the Arlington ISD.

Serving Students, Literally

The first day classes were scheduled to resume after spring break, the district had student meal locations set up at 23 different sites throughout the district. Less than six weeks later, the district surpassed the one-million mark in meals served.

At-Home Learning

A day after the student meal plan started, the district launched the At-Home Learning Hub, giving students online activities to keep them engaged academically. The district then trained teachers to give virtual lessons to their nearly 60,000 students. By the time the calendar flipped to May for the final month of the 2019-20 school year, students were able to access lessons in everything from Pre-K courses to AP courses along with continuing their work at our Dan Dipert Career and Technical Center.

Narrowing the Digital Divide

The Arlington ISD made sure students were able to do all of these lessons by distributing more than 20,000 devices to students in need to give them access to computers at home free of charge.

Every Val and Sal started in the Arlington ISD

These are the kind of results the Arlington ISD can deliver in a short time. Just imagine what can happen if you transfer your student to a district in which all 14 valedictorians or salutatorians from our seven high schools with senior classes started in the district in either Pre-K or kindergarten.

“Education is a huge priority in the Arlington ISD, but it’s not the only priority,” Superintendent Dr. Marcelo Cavazos said. “We are about developing the student inside and outside the classroom. That’s why we make sure they have everything they need to not only be successful in the classroom, but also at home. Our concern for students doesn’t end when the school day ends, whenever that is during these unprecedented times.”

A Phone Call Away

That’s why the Arlington ISD started hotline numbers not only for students who have concerns during the closure but also for families who are seeking additional resources with a Coping With Emergencies page on the district’s website. Counselors were also available to address both the social and emotional well-being of students.

Class of 2020’s Cloud has a Silver and Blue Lining

That’s what the Arlington ISD was able to accomplish in less than three months to end a school year like no other. The year will draw to a fitting end for seniors when they have graduation ceremonies at AT&T Stadium, one of the most recognizable venues in the country, thanks to a donation from a great district partner in the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Arlington Youth Foundation.

Just imagine what the Arlington ISD will be able to accomplish for students transferring in for a full year. Whether the school year begins as it has in the past, virtually, or in some combination of the two, the Arlington ISD will be prepared to meet the needs of students and their families. There will be new resources for students to use this fall like the Arlington ISD Arts and Athletics Complex. They will get to see the district grow thanks to the $966 million bond package that passed last fall.

That bond paves the way for the rebuilding of four schools, for junior high and high school fine arts/dual language academies, for renovations at all Arlington ISD campuses, and so much more.
