red ribbon week in arlington isd

If you’ve noticed some interesting fashion choices throughout the Arlington ISD this week, it’s okay.

That’s because the district, like many across the United States, is celebrating Red Ribbon Week. The week is designed to build awareness for heathy, drug free youth.

The national theme for 2020 is Be Happy. Be Brave. Be Drug Free. It’s a reminder that students are empowered to shape communities through positivity, bravery and strength.

And even though Arlington ISD students are learning in different ways this year, Red Ribbon Week is still very important. That’s why whether students are learning in person or virtually, there’s a chance you’ll see some crazy socks on a Zoom call or 1970s fashion if you’re dropping off your student for school.

We’re doing our best to capture the fun, too, which normally culminates with book character parades Friday. The district has created a Facebook album where you can follow along this week. You can find the link here.
