Tons of concrete poured at Arlington ISD schools this summer New concrete drives, parking, sidewalks and ramps

New concrete drive construction at Ditto Elementary

It was the summer of concrete in the Arlington ISD. Many schools had new concrete poured while students were out for the summer, from concrete drives and parking lots to improved sidewalks and ramps.

The schools in the photos above - Kooken Education CenterDitto Elementary and CarterBoles and Bailey junior highs - are just some of the more than 25 schools with summer construction projects funded by the 2014 Bond.

The 2014 Bond program is in its fifth and final year, as most projects will be finished by the end of 2019. The only project that will last much longer is the construction of the AISD's new Fine Arts Center and Athletics Complex, scheduled to open in the fall of 2020.
