Arlington ISD’s comprehensive early childhood curriculum is based on the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines sequenced to follow child development and support pre-K teachers to prepare all children for success in kindergarten. The research-based curriculum integrates instruction across developmental domains (physical development, cognitive development, social and emotional development, and linguistic development) and early-learning disciplines.

STEM Starts early in Arlington ISD!
Arlington ISD’s pre-K STEM program (science, technology, engineering, math) for 4-year-olds offers many opportunities for children to use their minds and hands to play, explore and learn. Pre-K students naturally learn through discovery, so the district’s pre-K STEM program provides many opportunities to explore and discover. It gives them the chance to see how things work together with hands-on, real-world activities. This helps them develop their creativity and sense of wonder, opening their minds to the excitement of learning!
Pre-K teachers in Arlington ISD create lessons that integrate STEM concepts into activities throughout the learning centers and into the curriculum themes.
