ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PROGRAMS

  • Academic Intervention is for elementary students needing additional academic support. Students in grades 1 through 6 have additional time to build their foundational English Language Arts & Reading (ELAR)/Spanish Language Arts & Reading (SLAR) and/or Math skills. Instruction is through a traditional classroom setting and course offerings are free.
  • Student Success Initiative (SSI) as a continuation of services for students in grade 5 who did not meet the state passing requirement of the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR). Students are provided with resources and instruction that will aid in the advancement of knowledge to prepare them for summer testing and course offerings are free.

JUNIOR HIGH PROGRAMS

  • Grade Recovery for junior high students is an intensive program specifically designed for students that did not meet local promotion criteria per AISD policy due to report card requirements. Grade recovery is offered through the Edgenuity online program and course offerings are free for 2020.

HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS

  • Accelerated Courses for high students is in intensive program specifically designed in which one day equates to almost one week in the long term. Students use the Edgenuity online platform to accelerate the accumulation of graduation credits. A cost accompanies the accelerated course offerings.
  • Career and Technology (CTE) offers selected CTE courses to provide high school students the opportunity to earn one full initial credit for selected courses directly related to a career and technology pathway. Students must meet the established prerequisites and courses offerings are tuition-based.
  • Credit Recovery for high school students is an intensive program specifically designed for students that did not meet local promotion criteria per AISD policy due to report card and/or attendance requirements. Credit recovery is offered either through the Edgenuity online program. Credit recovery is offered through the Edgenuity online program and course offerings are free for 2020.
  • End of Course Remediation (EOC) is remediation offered for 9th-12th students who need to retest one or more of the STAAR EOC assessments (Algebra I, English I, English II, Biology, and U.S. History). Passing of the EOC assessments is required for high school graduation based on TEC 39.025. Students receive instruction and support needed to prepare for summer retesting and course offerings are free.
  • Summer Academy is available for students that need to recover credits in a blended learning environment. Only students that cannot complete graduation requirements at their home campus are considered. Priority is given to Cohort 2018 and Cohort 2019 students. Course offerings are free.
  • The Learning Lab is open throughout the summer for Dropout Prevention (DOP) students enrolled during the 2019-20 school year. Any 2020 cohort student that cannot complete requirements at their home campus are considered to attend the lab. Course offerings are free.
